Obverse description Central field displays the large crowned quartered arms of Spain, featuring castles and lions in the first and fourth quarters, the fleur-de-lis escutcheon of the Bourbon dynasty in the centre, and the arms of Aragon to the right, all surmounted by an ornate royal crown. The shield is encircled by the collar and badge of the Order of the Golden Fleece, with the pendant fleece visible at the base. The circular Latin legend runs along the periphery between two rows of milled beading, separated from the central device by a series of decorative rosette stops.
