The circumferential legend reads CAROL·III·D·G· / HISP·ET·IND·R·, separated by pellets, commencing at the lower left and continuing around the periphery. The date 1770 appears in the lower exergual area, flanked by pellets. The entire design is bordered by a closely reeded rim, characteristic of the milled coinage reform of New Spain. |
