| Obverse description | Armored and draped bust of King Charles III facing right, rendered in high relief in the neoclassical portrait style introduced for the bust coinage series. The king's hair is dressed in a rolled queue tied with a ribbon, and he wears a lace cravat and cuirass with decorative detail visible at the shoulder.
