Reverse description The elaborately quartered royal arms of Spain, displaying the castles of Castile and the lions of León in the principal quarters, with the fleur-de-lis of the Bourbon dynasty in the centre escutcheon, surmounted by a large royal crown. The shield is flanked on either side by the denomination mark '8' and the assayer's initial 'S' within the links of the Order of the Golden Fleece chain. The mint mark 'Mo' and assayer initials 'FM' appear in the lower field, with the circular legend surrounding the entire design.
