Obverse description Draped bust of King Carlos IV facing right, wearing a ribboned queue wig and armor with elaborate lace cravat, rendered in the neoclassical style. The circumferential legend reads CAROL IIII D G HISP ET IND R, separated by dot stops, with the date 1795 appearing in the lower exergual area flanked by dots. The portrait is bold and high-relief, consistent with the dies produced for the Lima Mint colonial series.
