The shield is flanked by two ornate laurel and olive branches tied at the base with a bow. The denomination numeral 8 appears to the left of the shield and the assayer initial S to the right. The mint mark LME and assayer initials IJ are placed below the shield. The circumferential legend reads AUSPICE·DEO and IN·UTROQ·FELIX.
