Reverse description The quartered royal arms of Spain, displaying the castles of Castile and lions of León in the principal quarters, with the fleur-de-lis of the Bourbon dynasty in the inescutcheon, surmounted by an ornate royal crown. The shield is encircled by the collar chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece, from which the fleece pendant hangs at the base. The denomination numeral 8 appears to the left of the shield and the assayer mark S to the right, with the mint mark PTS and assayer initials PP divided below. The circumferential legend AUSPICE · DEO · IN · UTROQ · FELIX · surrounds the design within a beaded border.
