Reverse description The crowned quartered arms of Spain dominate the central field, displaying the castles of Castile and lions of León in the principal quarters, with the fleurs-de-lis of the Bourbon dynasty in the escutcheon, and the pomegranate of Granada at the base point. The shield is supported by crowned pillars of Hercules with ribbons, and the denomination numeral 8 appears to the left of the shield with the assayer's initial S to the right. The circumferential legend reads AUSPICE DEO·OFE·JM··NI··ENTRO·FELIX·, with the mint mark and assayer letters positioned in the lower field.
