Obverse description Armored bust of King Carlos III facing right, rendered in high relief in the characteristic portrait style of the late 18th-century Spanish colonial milled coinage. The king is depicted with curled hair tied in a queue and wearing a heavily ornamented military cuirass with detailed engraving. The circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading from the lower left, with the mint date displayed prominently in the exergue at the bottom of the field. A fine toothed border runs along the entire periphery.
