Obverse description Draped and armored bust of King Carlos III facing right, rendered in high relief in the Neoclassical style engraved by Tomás Francisco Prieto. The king is portrayed in mature effigy, wearing a cuirass with decorative shoulder armor and lace jabot at the collar, his hair arranged in a queue tied with a ribbon. The date appears in the exergue at the bottom of the field, flanked by pellets. The circular Latin legend reading CAROL•III•D•G•HISP•ET IND•R• runs along the periphery, interrupted by the portrait, with a toothed border encircling the entire design.
