Obverse description Draped bust of King Carlos III facing right, rendered in high relief with elaborate period coiffure tied with a ribbon and queue, wearing a lace cravat and armor with decorative cross brooch at the shoulder. The royal effigy occupies the central field, with the regnal date 1768 positioned in the exergue at the bottom. The encircling Latin legend reads CAROLUS III D G HISP ET IND REX, separated by pellet stops, running clockwise around the full periphery of the coin.
