Wavy lines representing the seas appear below the pillars, a traditional motif on Spanish colonial macuquina coinage. The date, partially visible on the irregular cob flan, is struck above or adjacent to the pillars in the customary position. A partial circular legend in Latin borders the design. The composition and layout conform closely to the standard Potosí-style reverse format adopted at Lima during the reign of Carlos II. |
