Additional information

La Rioja's gold coinage of this period reflects the chronic fiscal disorder of the Argentine interior during the civil wars between Unitarians and Federalists. Provincial mints operated under desperate local authority, often with inconsistent bullion supplies and minimal technical oversight — conditions visible in the erratic striking quality documented across this type. The Rioja issues are among the most irregular in the entire Argentine provincial series.

Fr#8 is genuinely scarce in any grade. Most surviving pieces show heavy circulation or cleaning.
