Obverse description Central field occupied by the elaborate quartered coat of arms of Archbishop Max Gandolf von Kuenburg, consisting of the Salzburg arms (bendy of six or and sable with a lion) impaled with the Kuenburg family arms, the shield surmounted by a crossed processional staff and sword beneath a princely hat with tasselled cordons hanging at either side. The date 16-68 is divided below the shield. A continuous Latin legend surrounds the entire design within a beaded inner border, identifying the Archbishop as Prince of the Holy Roman Empire and Legate of the Apostolic See.
