Obverse description Armored and draped bust of Frederick August I facing right, his long curled wig falling over his shoulders, wearing elaborately decorated armor with a collar and gorget visible at the neck. The effigy is rendered in high relief in a bold Baroque style characteristic of early 18th-century Saxon coinage. The circular Latin legend runs along the outer border, reading D G FRID: AUGUST: REX POL: DUX SAX: I C M A & W, denoting his titles as King of Poland and Duke of Saxony.
