The date 1617 is divided at the top of the field, flanking the central crest. A continuous Latin legend encircles the design, identifying Abbess Dorothea by name and title. The heraldic composition is rendered in high relief with intricate detail characteristic of early seventeenth-century German goldsmith work. |
