| Obverse description | Detailed panoramic view of the city of Regensburg as seen from the north, with the distinctive skyline of towers and spires — including the prominent Gothic cathedral — rendered in finely engraved perspective. In the foreground, the River Danube is depicted with bridges, a fortified island tower, and a gondola with figures. Above the cityscape, a flying eagle with spread wings carries a sword and globus cruciger, with a radiant all-seeing eye within a triangle above it. At the lower center of the field, a cartouche flanked by laurel branches bears the crossed keys of Regensburg with the initials I·C·B. The engraver's initials I·L·O· appear in the lower right field, and the Latin legend TALI SUB CUSTODIA arcs along the upper periphery. |
