The composition is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend MONETA NOVA REIPUBLICÆ TIGURINÆ distributed around the periphery, separated by small rosette stops. The overall design is executed in bold relief characteristic of Swiss hammered gold coinage of the mid-17th century. |
