The issuer name GUERNSEY arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination EIGHT DOUBLES curves along the lower periphery. The date is divided across the lower field, flanking the base of the stem, reading 19 59 on the example illustrated. The engraver's initials P.V. appear discreetly in the lower left field. |
