Surrounding the central circle, a Quranic verse from Surah Al-Mu'minun (23:52) runs in a continuous Arabic legend: 'وإن هذه أمتكم أمة واحدة وأنا ربكم فاتقون' (And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me). Issued to mark the UAE's National Day, the 8-dinar denomination was chosen to reflect the union of the seven emirates — a numismatic gesture toward the federation's founding count, with the face value carrying symbolic rather than transactional weight. Fine gold one-troy-ounce bullion pieces from the Gulf states rarely circulate, and this series was produced in limited quantities directed almost entirely at the investment and collector market.
