The Acteon Group is the southernmost cluster of the Tuamotu Archipelago in French Polynesia — remote enough that its four low-lying atolls supported no permanent population for most of recorded history. The Institut d'Émission d'Outre-Mer, which manages currency for French overseas territories in the Pacific, has issued this type as part of a collector series rather than circulating coinage; no physical retail economy on the Acteons would ever put it to use.
