| Obverse description | The national arms of the Yemen Arab Republic occupy the central field, with the dates flanking the shield — the Hijri year (١٣٩٥) to the left and the Gregorian year (1975) to the right. The face value '٧٥ ريالاً / 75 RIALS' is inscribed below the arms, along with the gold fineness mark '900' and mint initials. The legend 'الجمهورية العربية اليمنية' appears in Arabic above, with 'YEMEN ARAB REPUBLIC' in Latin script below. |

| Additional information |
Yemen's 1975 Olympic issue was struck not because Yemen had any meaningful presence at the 1976 Montreal Games, but because the commemorative coin market of the 1970s rewarded any issuer willing to license Olympic imagery — the IOC actively sold those rights to small nations as a revenue stream. Dozens of countries with negligible Olympic programs issued gold pieces for Montreal under this arrangement.
The Central Bank contracted production through a European mint rather than striking domestically.
