| 裏面の説明 | The reverse is composed of three vertical panels against a matching navy and ochre ground. The flanking panels each carry a '75 Pf.' shield cartouche above crossed naval ensigns and flags rendered in grey and ochre. The wide central panel frames an octagonal engraved vignette of the fleet of Admiral Brommy at anchor off Brake, executed in a fine line-art style with tall-masted sailing ships, smaller craft under sail, billowing clouds, and the town's waterfront visible in the background; five-pointed stars ornament the ochre corners of the frame. A decorative scroll cartouche across the full width of the lower margin bears a three-line commemorative inscription in Gothic script. |

Brake is a small port town on the Weser, and its municipal savings bank — the Städtische Sparkasse — was among hundreds of German local institutions forced into emergency currency issuance during the hyperinflationary spiral of 1922. The 75-Pfennig denomination is slightly awkward, chosen not for any monetary logic but because smaller Notgeld denominations were already flooding the region and gaps in everyday change drove issuers to odd fractional values.
Carl Flemming & Wiskott in Glogau printed enormous volumes of municipal Notgeld during this period and the technical quality is accordingly workmanlike rather than distinguished.
