RITTER CUNO.
Herr Cuno im trutzigen Bergesneste,
War niemals erschreckbar, doch tapfer und feste,
Wird man ihn zum Leben jetzt wieder erwecken,
Vor den heutigen Zeiten, bekäm er doch Schrecken.

Kyllburg is a small spa town in the Eifel region, and its local beautification society — a branch of the Eifelverein, the hiking and regional culture association founded in 1888 — issued this note during the Weimar inflation emergency. Verschönerungsverein notgeld of this type was printed by Schaar & Däthe in Trier, a firm that handled a significant volume of Rhineland notgeld output during the 1921–1922 period.

The issuer here is unusual: not a municipality or savings bank, but a voluntary civic organization. Whether the town government formally authorized the issue or whether the Eifelverein branch acted on its own initiative is not documented in standard notgeld references.
