Kyllburg is a small spa town in the Eifel region, and its local beautification society — a branch of the Eifelverein, the hiking and regional culture association founded in 1888 — issued this note during the Weimar inflation emergency. Verschönerungsverein notgeld of this type was printed by Schaar & Däthe in Trier, a firm that handled a significant volume of Rhineland notgeld output during the 1921–1922 period.
The issuer here is unusual: not a municipality or savings bank, but a voluntary civic organization. Whether the town government formally authorized the issue or whether the Eifelverein branch acted on its own initiative is not documented in standard notgeld references.
