Obverse description The obverse is divided into three vertical panels framed by a bold black border. The central panel carries a multi-line quotation in Gothic blackletter script on a white ground with red horizontal ruling lines, drawn from Goethe's epic poem Hermann und Dorothea, Canto VII (Erato). Flanking vignettes in a woodcut style each present a medieval stone statue — a female figure on the left and an armoured male figure on the right — rendered in brown tones against a gold ground. The denomination 75 Pf. appears in large red numerals at the lower corners, while a validity notice and the date 31. Juli 1921 are printed in small letterpress type at the foot of the central panel above two manuscript signatures.

Reverse description The reverse carries a large multicolour woodcut-style vignette signed by Rötschau, set within a bold black border. The scene illustrates a group of figures in period dress drawn from Goethe's Hermann und Dorothea: a seated woman gestures toward a bearded patriarch standing at centre holding two young girls by the hand, while two female figures with a basket stand to the right; a stylised green tree and pale cloud wash form the background. The denomination 75 appears in teal at all four corners within the border, and a gold banner at the foot bears a quotation in Gothic script. The printer's credit is printed in small type below the lower border.
