Opmerkingen

Siedenburg is a small settlement in Lower Saxony, and like hundreds of similarly modest German municipalities, it resorted to privately arranged Notgeld printing in the early 1920s to fill the coin shortage left by wartime metal hoarding and post-war inflation. The print run figures cited — 1885 and 1886 — almost certainly refer to internal registry or order numbers assigned by the printer, not calendar years; a common cataloguing ambiguity with small-town Notgeld of this period.

The DeNG reference places this among the standard regional Notgeld corpus documented by Dießner and Grabowski. Twenty thousand impressions per print run was unremarkable for the series; many comparable towns ordered far fewer.
