Grünberg — now Zielona Góra in western Poland — was a centre of Silesian wine production, an unusual distinction for a German city at this latitude, and the town's notgeld issues from this period reflect considerable local pride in that identity. The 75 Pfennig denomination sits in the middle of a typical municipal emergency issue run, produced as coins remained scarce during the hyperinflationary spiral of the early Weimar period.
The watermarked paper is worth noting — most Kleingeldscheine of comparable municipal origin used plain stock, and the added security feature suggests either a more careful issuing authority or procurement from a higher-grade commercial printer.
