Stolzenau am Weser was a small rural Landkreis in the Hannover province, and its Kreisausschuß — the district executive committee — issued this 75 Pfennig note as part of Germany's broader Notgeld wave of 1921, when chronic small-change shortages forced local authorities at every administrative level to print their own emergency currency.
