Comments

Bönningstedt is a small village north of Hamburg, and its 1921 Notgeld issue belongs to the second wave of German municipal emergency currency — the "Serienscheine" phase, when towns increasingly treated small-denomination paper as a collector vehicle rather than a genuine monetary stopgap. Konrad Hanf was a Hamburg-based printer responsible for a number of regional Notgeld commissions during this period, producing short runs that were sold to collectors almost immediately upon issue.

The 75 Pfennig denomination is worth noting: it was uncommon enough to suggest the series was designed with set completion in mind, not daily commerce.
