| 表面の説明 | The obverse is dominated by a bold typographic design in black and ochre/gold tones, centred on a large star-burst or arrow-shaped vignette within which the numeral '75' appears in ornate hatched letterpress numerals. The word 'GUTSCHEIN' arches across the top in heavy black type above radiating lines, while 'PFENNIGE' and 'DER STADT KAHLA S·A' are set in bold sans-serif lettering below the central device. The issuing authority 'DER STADTRAT:' is inscribed above two manuscript signatures, and the date of issue and expiry date are printed along the lower margin. |

Kahla notgeld from 1921 falls squarely within the second wave of German municipal emergency currency — printed not from genuine shortage of small coin, but because local authorities had realized these issues sold to collectors at face value and were rarely redeemed. Kahla, a small Thuringian town on the Saale, was already known as a center of porcelain manufacture, and several notgeld series from this period leaned heavily on local industrial identity as a marketing tool for the collector trade.
Whether this 75 Pfennig piece was ever intended for actual daily use is doubtful.
