Glauchau's 75 Pfennig notgeld of 1921 was printed in-house by the city's own Ratsdruckerei — the municipal print shop — a practical arrangement common among Saxony's mid-sized towns during the postwar currency shortage. R. Dulce's press was not a specialist security printer, which partly explains the relatively simple production values typical of this series.
The denomination itself is characteristic of the second wave of German municipal notgeld, when 25 and 50 Pfennig pieces proved insufficient as inflation eroded purchasing power faster than new federal coinage could be struck.
