| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse is divided into three arched vignette panels printed in blue, black, and red on cream paper, enclosed within a ruled border with horizontal-line corner blocks bearing the denomination numeral '75'. The left panel contains a relief vignette of the Resurrection of Christ flanked by two soldiers, captioned as a Byzantine baptismal font relief; the central panel presents a view of the Stiftskirche St. Cyriaci from the northwest set against a red circular sky; and the right panel shows an angel holding the Book of Life, likewise identified as a Byzantine baptismal font relief. Below the three vignettes runs the serial number, the issuing authority 'Der Magistrat' with a manuscript signature, and the validity clause with the date 21. Oktober 1921. |

| Opmerkingen |
Gernrode's 1921 Notgeld issue was part of the wave of municipal emergency currency that flooded Germany during the postwar inflation spiral, when chronic coin shortages left small transactions nearly impossible. Carl Mittag designed several Harz-region Notgeld series during this period, and Louis Koch of Halberstadt was a natural choice — the press handled a significant share of regional small-denomination emergency issues from towns across the Harz foothills.
Gernrode itself was a modest spa and pilgrimage town, best known for the Stiftskirche St. Cyriakus, one of the best-preserved Ottonian churches in Germany. Whether that connection influenced Mittag's design choices here is unrecorded.
