The centre field bears an oversized numeral '75' in striped letterpress style above a banner inscribed PFENNIG. To the left, a vertical dark panel carries a diamond-shaped vignette with the denomination '75' and, below it, the circular town seal of Dahlenburg dated ANO 1637, engraved with a twin-towered gatehouse above water. A vertical right-hand panel bears a purple text box with a humorous collector's verse in German. The validity clause, place, date of 15 September 1921, and a manuscript signature of the Magistrat official appear at the foot of the central field. |

Dahlenburg is a small market town in Lower Saxony, and its appearance in the Notgeld record is unremarkable in isolation — hundreds of German municipalities issued small-denomination emergency paper in 1921 as chronic coin shortages persisted long after the armistice. What distinguishes notes from minor issuers like this one is the printer: Franz Scherrer of Hanover produced work for numerous Lower Saxon municipalities during this period, operating at the cheaper end of the Notgeld trade where print runs were modest and survival rates are correspondingly low.
