The right half carries the denomination '75 Hl.' in large Gothic script at upper right, followed by the redemption text in Kurrent lettering and a facsimile signature of the Bürgermeister. St. Johann in Tirol's 75 Heller Notgeld belongs to the wave of municipal emergency currency that flooded Austria between 1919 and 1922, when chronic coin shortages forced even small market towns to print their own. Wagner in Innsbruck handled a substantial volume of Tyrolean Notgeld during this period, producing notes for numerous Gemeinden across the Inn Valley on relatively short print runs.
By 1921 the series was nearing its functional end — Austria's federal stabilization efforts would render most local Heller issues obsolete within two years, and many were simply collected rather than spent.
