Beschrijving voorzijde Printed in dark red on cream paper, the obverse carries the denomination numeral '75' in large bold type at each upper corner with 'HELLER' in decorative letterpress, flanking a central panoramic vignette by artist Jos. Fluch of the Ötscher mountain (1892 m) with alpine terrain, conifer forests, and a distant railway in the valley below. A smaller vignette at left renders a rustic mountain chalet, while an edelweiss spray at right serves as a regional decorative motif. The lower portion bears three facsimile signature lines for the Finanz-Referent, Bürgermeister, and Vizebürgermeister, with the validity period inscribed within a ruled panel.

Opmerkingen

Mitterbach is a small Alpine commune in Lower Austria, and this 75 Heller note belongs to the vast wave of Notgeld issued by Austrian municipalities between 1919 and 1921 to address the chronic small-change shortage that followed the collapse of the Habsburg monetary system. The Gemeinde handled the commission locally — Ommer was a St. Pölten printer, not a specialist banknote firm, which is exactly what made this type of emergency scrip economically viable at the municipal level.

Designer Jos. Fluch's name appears on a number of Lower Austrian Notgeld issues from this period, suggesting a regional commercial artist working across multiple commune commissions simultaneously.
