Hundsberg is a small village in the Vöcklabruck district, and this note is about as local as Austrian notgeld gets. The postwar collapse of small-denomination coinage forced even tiny rural municipalities to print their own emergency currency in 1920 — the Ortsgemeinde here acting entirely outside any formal banking structure, with the Ortsvorsteher signing notes essentially on his personal authority.

Breitschopf's signature as village headman is the only guarantee behind this piece. No bank, no treasury.
