Eben am Achensee is a small Tyrolean village on the northern shore of the Achensee, and its decision to issue Notgeld in 1921 came late in the Austrian emergency currency wave — most municipal issues peaked in 1920. The Wagner press in Innsbruck handled a substantial share of Tyrolean Notgeld production during this period, supplying everything from single-denomination slips to elaborate multi-note series for communities that lacked any other means of managing small-change shortages left behind by postwar currency collapse.
The 75 Heller denomination is less common than the 10, 20, or 50 Heller values typical of the period.
