This is not a circulation note. The 1984 Belize 75 Dollar piece was issued as a numismatic souvenir — a collector item commemorating 75 years of the Belize currency system, produced in a strictly limited quantity and never intended for economic use. The gold foil bonding made it physically unsuitable for ATM or register handling, which was beside the point.

Belize had only achieved independence in 1981, making the "75 years" framing an interesting choice — the anniversary counted back to colonial monetary administration, not to sovereign issuance.
