| Opmerkingen |
North Carolina was one of the few Confederate states to maintain its own parallel paper currency throughout the war, issuing notes through the state treasurer's office rather than relying solely on Confederate notes. The 75-cent denomination is an awkward fraction that speaks directly to the coin shortage crisis of 1862–63, when specie vanished from circulation almost entirely and even small transactions required some paper substitute.
Printed locally in Raleigh by Bransons & Farrar, these fractional notes circulated hard and wore fast. Surviving examples in any decent condition are less common than the higher denominations from the same series.
