Obverse description Central device depicts the state arms of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, featuring Mount Paektu within a circular field, surmounted by a five-pointed star radiating rays of light, flanked by sheaves of rice bound with a ribbon, and a hydroelectric dam with a cogwheel in the lower portion. The Hangul legend reading 조선민주주의인민공화국중앙은행 (Central Bank of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea) arcs along the upper periphery.
