Obverse description Central field displays a large crowned heraldic shield bearing a rampant lion, supported by a standing armoured figure of Saint Francis of Assisi at upper left, rendered in high relief with outstretched hands displaying stigmata. The denomination numeral LXXI (70) is prominently inscribed in the lower field and along the left margin. A beaded inner border frames the central composition, with the outer legend running along the coin's periphery within a further beaded rim. The overall style is characteristic of late Italian Renaissance hammered coinage of the Duchy of Mirandola.
