The Bank Broadel Breizh — the National Bank of Brittany — has never existed as a sovereign institution. This note is a regionalist fantasy piece, issued by a Breton nationalist cultural organization in 1992 as a statement of identity rather than a financial instrument. It carries no legal tender status and was never intended to circulate as currency in any formal sense.
The denomination "Lur" is a constructed Breton monetary unit with no historical precedent — the name derives from the Breton word for "earth" or "ground." The watermark is the one technically serious feature, suggesting the issuer invested meaningfully in production.
