Obverse description Armored half-length bust of Bishop Johann V facing right, wearing a mitre and elaborately decorated plate armor, holding a patriarchal cross in his right hand and a orb in his left. The figure is rendered in a detailed Renaissance style with fine engraving of the armor's surface ornamentation. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading IOANNES DEI GRA EPISCOPVS CVR S L PRC. The field is smooth gold, with the bishop's image dominating the coin's center.
