Two crossed ceremonial swords appear below the seal, with a scroll bearing the mottoes ATUA and NIUE TUKULAGI. A chessboard pattern fills the background field, and a group of chess pieces — including king, queen, rook, knight, and bishop — is arranged in relief along the lower portion of the coin. The outer border is decorated with an intricate Celtic knotwork pattern. The legends NIUE ISLAND, 2025, 3 oz, 7 DOLLARS, and Ag 999 are inscribed around the periphery, with the mint mark XXI appearing in the lower left field. |

Along the upper register, busts of a crowned queen and a noblewoman face one another across a stylized castle cityscape, with a small gold-tinted orb at the apex.
