| Obverse description | A highly detailed antiqued relief composition dominates the field, depicting a colossal seated figure of Poseidon at right, holding a trident, set against a panoramic background of classical Greek temple architecture and a rocky coastal landscape. At lower centre, a large ancient Greek trireme with banks of oars is shown at sea, with diminutive figures visible along the shore. To the upper left, the royal coat of arms of Niue bearing the inscriptions ATUA and NIUE TUKULAGI appears within a wreath surmounted by a crown. The fineness mark Ag 999 appears along the right border, and the denomination 7 DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower edge. The legend NIUE 2023 arcs across the upper rim. |
