7 500 000 Lira Stenbergia candida

Turkey's late-lira period produced a remarkable run of botanical silver issues before the 2005 redenomination wiped six zeros from the currency. The face value of 7,500,000 lira, absurd on its surface, reflects the chronic inflation Turkey sustained through the 1990s — the lira lost roughly 50% of its value annually for much of that decade, pushing nominal coin denominations into the millions before the new Turkish lira finally replaced them.

Sternbergia candida is endemic to a narrow range in southwestern Turkey, formally described only in 1979.
