| Obverse description | Draped bust of King João V facing right, wearing a flowing curled wig rendered in high relief with elaborate Baroque detail. The royal effigy is uncrowned and truncated at the shoulder. Decorative acanthus-scroll mantling flanks the shield on both sides, filling the field with characteristic Baroque exuberance.
