HÍD — the Hungarian word for "bridge" — is a Budapest-based numismatic and cultural association that has issued a series of collector fantasy notes denominated in forint but carrying no legal tender status whatsoever. The 6000 forint denomination is deliberately fictitious: no such value exists or has ever existed in Hungarian currency, which makes the intent purely commemorative from the outset.
Designed and produced in-house by the issuing association, these pieces occupy an awkward taxonomic space — neither exonumia in the traditional sense nor conventional notgeld.
