Reverse description The crowned coat of arms of Bern, bearing a walking bear in relief on a diagonally striped shield surmounted by a mural crown, occupies the centre of the field. The trilingual legend BERNE BERN BERNA arcs around the upper portion of the rim, the date 1353 appears at the bottom, and the fineness mark 0.900 with the engraver's initials HF are inscribed in the lower field, all within a beaded border.
